About me

Harry P.A. van de Water MD PhD MPH

I was born in the Netherlands and studied medicine in Leyden. As a medical doctor I specialized in public health and epidemiology; worked in hospitals; in community health care; and was a researcher. Much of my research has been about public health and the role of prevention. I hold a PhD from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

After the turn of the century, I became a public health inspector in Trondheim, Norway. There, my interest in alternative medicine developed further. In 2009 - in addition to my government job - I opened a practice as a holistic physician and hypnotherapist. This combination gave me an even broader view of health and what can be done to maintain it.

After my retirement in 2014, I started writing children's books with a message. My passion is to share experiences and insights with others and thus help people to make better choices for their health, well-being and happiness. I think a lot along the lines of prevention and consciousness. That is relevant at all ages, but especially for the youth and their future. The well-being of sensitive children, also called new age children, has my special interest

Through my books I am able to reach more individuals than what was possible through my practice. The problems I as a practitioner saw with my clients are often the same as many people struggle with. They are often the result of how we shape our society and treat each other. Solutions, norms and values that lead to great pressure on individuals come in the long run at the expense of health, well-being and happiness. How we can reduce that pressure on ourselves and better develop our full potential as a human being, are topics that I also give lectures on.
